Lawrie Cate

Lawrie Cate has worked in a variety of roles in the technology industry. In 2021, they began working as an Engineer for KabuK Style Inc. Prior to that, they were the CTO for MyMizu from 2019-2021, a Software Engineer for Mercari, Inc. from 2018-2019, and a Web Developer for WordZoo from 2017-2018. In 2017, they also worked as a Student VC for Campus Capital Nottingham and participated in the Seeds For The Future Summer Programme with Huawei Technologies. From 2015-2017, they were the Cofounder of Next Degree, and from 2014-2015, they were an IT Community Champion for RCAN/University of Nottingham.

Lawrie Cate has a varied educational background. From 2007 to 2014, they attended Torquay Boys' Grammar School, where they studied Computing, Maths, Discrete Maths AS, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese AS, and Art & Design for A Levels. In 2014, they graduated with a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science with International Year from the University of Nottingham. In 2016, they completed another Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science with International Year from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
