Kadama
Jay Desmarais is an accomplished software engineer and tutor with a solid background in cybersecurity and software development. Currently serving as a tutor at Kadama since December 2022, Jay previously interned as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, where a full-stack project was completed utilizing Typescript and Java. As an Intermediate Software Engineer at AT&T from June 2019 to November 2021, Jay designed frontend and backend tools for a collaboration platform used by cybersecurity analysts and implemented AWS Lambdas for data manipulation. Early experience includes a Cybersecurity Intern role at AT&T, and site management and lifeguard responsibilities at Columbia Association, demonstrating strong teamwork and leadership skills. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a focus on Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland, along with an Associate's degree from Howard Community College, Jay is well-equipped for future challenges in the tech industry.
