Ryan Kilfedder

Ryan Kilfedder has a diverse work experience spanning over 16 years. Ryan started their career as a Web Developer at Tibus in 2006, where they worked on multiple projects, including the ActivityBreaks project and internal networks projects. Ryan then transitioned to a more general role, working with various clients and later spent two years exclusively working for the Bank of Ireland. At Tibus, they also worked on developing a web server administration platform and an email server administration platform.

In 2012, Ryan joined GCD Technologies as a Web/Software Developer, where they worked on a wide range of projects on different platforms. During their time at GCD, they gained experience in Agile/Scrum methodology and worked on Android development, C# development, and GIT & SVN.

Ryan's next role was at Aura Healthcare Limited in 2014, where they worked as a Senior Developer on a hospital/patient management solution. Ryan mainly focused on CakePHP and AngularJS development and delivered a significant project for Great Ormond Street Hospital to identify patients using photography.

In 2014, Ryan joined Learning Pool as a Senior Developer, where they implemented a new system for working with vagrant boxes, which was adopted company-wide. Ryan worked with Drupal, C#, Lumen, nodeJS, and Moodle and practiced test-driven development in an agile environment.

From 2016 to 2018, Ryan worked at The Tomorrow Lab as a Senior Web Manager/Lead Developer. Ryan introduced Vagrant to the team and created a Laravel homestead-based "builder" project. Ryan also oversaw the implementation of a new process for creating WordPress sites using Foundation, Bedrock, and composer.

Ryan's next position was at Proofpoint in 2018, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer. Ryan measurably improved the performance of a legacy PHP project and wrote Java Selenium integration tests. Ryan was also involved in Penetration Test Mitigation.

In 2019, Ryan joined Flexera as a Senior Software Engineer before moving to their current position at Kadence in 2020. At Kadence, they started as a Senior Software Engineer and later transitioned into a Software Engineering Team Lead role in October 2021.

Ryan Kilfedder completed their education starting in 2000 at the North East Institute of Further and Higher Education, where they obtained a BTEC National Diploma in Computer Studies. Ryan then attended Ulster University from 2002 to 2006, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computing. In addition to their academic qualifications, they also obtained certifications as a Zend Certified PHP Engineer from Zend Technologies in February 2014 and as a PHP 5 Certification Exam from Zend Technologies in March 2008.
