Kishen Mitra has a range of work experience in various roles and industries. Kishen recently worked as an Incoming Summer Analyst at Chartis, starting in November 2022.

Prior to this, Kishen had several roles at Duke University. Kishen served as a Research Assistant at the Bowles/Milano Lab and a Pratt Research Fellow at the Adams Lab, both starting in August 2022. Kishen also worked as an E-Team Peer Advisor and a Tutor with Duke Athletics, and held the position of Writing Consultant for the First-Year Design Program from August 2022 to April 2023. Additionally, they were a Bass Connections Research Fellow from April 2021 to May 2022 and an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Bursac Lab from August 2020 to May 2022.

Kishen also gained experience as a Product Development Intern at restor3d from May 2022 to August 2022. Kishen worked as a Medical Coder at Duke University School of Medicine from September 2021 to May 2022, and as a Student Assistant at Duke University Hospital from September 2020 to May 2021.

Furthermore, Kishen has previous experience as a Student Researcher and Lab Assistant at Florida Institute of Technology from June 2016 to March 2020. Kishen also served as a Summer Research Intern at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine in June and July of 2019, where they conducted research in Dr. Anthony Atala's laboratory focused on developing a microfluidic model for assessing large osteochondral defects.

Kishen Mitra attended West Shore Jr/Sr High School from 2016 to 2020, where they earned an AP Diploma and an AP Capstone Diploma. In 2019, they also enrolled as a dual enrollment student at Florida Institute of Technology. Kishen then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at Duke University from 2020 to 2024. Kishen also pursued minors in Chemistry and Finance during their time at Duke. Kishen acquired various certifications during their education, including training programs in Duke Programs, Machine Shop Safety from Duke University, and Undergraduate Student Responsible Conduct of Research from CITI Program. Kishen also obtained Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross.
