Daren May

Daren May has a diverse and extensive work experience. Daren currently serves as the Director of Development at Kahua, where they have been working since 2021. Prior to this, they held the role of Senior Software Developer at Kahua.

In 2017, Daren founded and became the President of CustomMayd, a team specializing in architectural consulting, training course development, and app building. Daren also worked as a Content Developer for Microsoft Worldwide Learning and the Azure IoT Product teams during their time at CustomMayd.

Daren joined SSB in 2021 as a Strategic Advisor to the Senior Vice President of Software Engineering and IT.

From 2017 to 2019, they worked at Microsoft as a Microsoft DevRadio Co-presenter, where they contributed to software development news. Daren also served as a Subject Matter Expert and Team Lead for the Microsoft Professional Program for Internet of Things (IoT).

In 2018, Daren held various roles at different companies. Daren was a Strategic Advisor to the Chief Technology Officer at The Regis Company, a Microsoft Technologies Architect at Ping Identity, and a UWP Architect at UI CENTRIC.

From 2012 to 2017, Daren co-founded and served as the President of CRANK211 LLC, where they focused on creating interactive experiences for web, mobile, Xbox, and Windows platforms. Daren also worked as an Expert Witness for Enigami Systems, Inc., where they authored and delivered expert witness reports and testified in court.

Prior to these roles, Daren worked at Aspenware as the Vice President of Operations and Chief Technology Officer from 2009 to 2012, overseeing project delivery, performance, financial systems, and the overall operational well-being of the company.

Daren May attended HMS Daedalus between 1989 and 1993, where they pursued a degree in Air Engineering. During their time at the institution, they focused on studying Radio, Radar, and Sonar.
