Piers Millar has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Piers co-founded KAIKAKU in 2023 and currently serves as the Chief Development Officer. Prior to that, they worked at Blackelm Equity as the Chief Executive Officer, where they quickly rose through the ranks from Head of FIG. At Torch Partners, Piers was selected as one of 15 candidates out of 800+ applicants for the Investment Banking Summer Analyst program, but they withdrew to pursue KAIKAKU. Piers also participated in McKinsey & Company's Future Talent Programme. Piers began their career at McDonald's, where they achieved the youngest promotion to Crew Trainer and received near-unanimous recommendations for further promotion. Piers had a role as a Private Equity Summer Analyst at Pelican Capital, securing the position through cold call emails. Additionally, Piers worked as bar staff at KERB Food from 2021 to 2022.
Piers Millar began their education at Penistone Grammar School in 2014 and completed their GCSEs in 2019. Piers then attended Penistone Sixth Form from 2019 to 2021, where they pursued A Levels. In 2019, they also took MITx Courses and obtained a certification in AP Microeconomics from MITx on edX in January 2020.
In 2021, Piers enrolled at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and is expected to graduate in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Philosophy. While studying at LSE, they obtained additional certifications, including the LSE Non-Profit Consultancy Project in September 2022.
Piers also earned the Senior Maths Challenge Silver Award for achieving the best score in their year, which was awarded by the UK Mathematics Trust in July 2021.
