Frans Baleni

Frans is a former General Secretary of National Union of Mineworkers, one of the largest unions in South Africa. He has served in various national forums such as the King II Committee which developed the Chapter on Sustainability as well as the National Electricity Forum which led to the establishment of the National Energy Regulator (NERSA). He brings a range of skills and insights, among them governance, education and training, stakeholder management and collective bargaining processes to the Board.
