Dr. Darrin Slade

Dr. Darrin Slade serves as the Superintendent of Kalamazoo Public Schools since July 2023, bringing extensive leadership experience from previous roles as Deputy Superintendent at Hazelwood Public Schools and Assistant Superintendent of School Leadership at Kansas City Public Schools. Dr. Slade has a strong foundation in education, having served as a High School Principal at the District of Columbia Public Schools and as an Assistant Principal at Baltimore City Public Schools. Dr. Slade holds a Doctor of Education in Policy and Leadership from the University of Maryland, a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Georgetown University, and a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from The Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, participation in the AASA Urban Superintendents Academy at Howard University further enhanced Dr. Slade's expertise in educational leadership.
