Sandy Barry-Loken

Sandy Barry-Loken currently serves as the Executive Director of Communications and Community Engagement for Kalamazoo RESA since December 2023. Prior to this role, Sandy held various leadership positions at the Kalamazoo Community Foundation from April 2014 to December 2023, including Vice President of Community Impact and Investment, where responsibilities encompassed developing strategies to address community disparities and promoting equity and engagement. Sandy's extensive experience also includes a decade as Director of Greater Kalamazoo Girls on the Run, achieving record participation rates and overseeing organizational growth. Earlier roles at Western Michigan University involved significant leadership in student activities and programming, culminating in the role of Director of Student Activities & Leadership Programs. Sandy holds a Master of Arts in Counselor Education/Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations, both from Western Michigan University.
