Sonya Noor

Director Endovascular & Vascular Services, Gates Vascular Institute at Kaleida Health

Sonya Noor has extensive work experience in the medical field, specializing in vascular surgery. Sonya began their career in 2001 as a General and Vascular Surgeon at Surgical Associates. From 2002 to 2003, they served as a Vascular Surgery fellow at the State University of New York, followed by an Endovascular and Peripheral Fellowship at the Arizona Heart Institute from 2003 to 2004. In 2004, they became a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Buffalo, Department of Surgery. Sonya then joined Buffalo Endovascular and Vascular Surgical Associates in 2007, first as an Associate and Managing Partner, and later as a Managing Partner and co-founder of BEVSA. In 2014, they became a Board Member at Gates Vascular Institute physician board. From 2015 to the present, they have held the position of Director of endovascular & vascular services at Gates Vascular Institute, while also serving as an Attending Vascular Surgeon. In 2017, they became the Past President of the American College of Surgeons local chapter. Additionally, they served as the Past President of the Western New York Vascular Society from 2011 to 2013.

Sonya Noor completed their education in the following chronological order:

1. From 1976 to 1986, they attended La Martiniere for Girls School & College and earned their ICSC & ISC degrees in Physical Sciences.

2. From 1986 to 1992, they studied at Calcutta Medical College, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Medicine & Surgery.

3. In 1993, they completed the MCCQE (Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination) at the Medical Council of Canada.

4. In 1994, they also pursued the MCCEE (Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination) at the Medical Council of Canada.

5. In 2001, they obtained board certification in general surgery from the American Board of Surgery.

6. From 2004 to 2005, they further specialized in Vascular Surgery by completing a General Surgery degree from the American Board of Surgery.
