Alejandro Alonso

CIO & Co-founder at Kaleidos Open Source

Alejandro Alonso has an extensive work history that spans over several companies and roles. Alejandro began their career in 2006 as a Technical Analyst at Entel IT Consulting, where they worked until 2011. In 2011, they co-founded Kaleidos and served as the CIO and Co-founder. Their role at Kaleidos involved staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the free software world and its community. In 2014, they co-founded Taiga Agile, where they held multiple roles as a Co-founder, Product Owner, and Software Engineer. Taiga developed an open-source project management tool. Alejandro worked at Taiga until 2018. Currently, Alejandro is co-founder and software engineer at Penpot, an open-source solution for design and prototyping. Penpot is currently in heavy development.

Alejandro Alonso studied Industrial Engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia - U.N.E.D. from 2008 to 2009. Before that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where they studied from 2002 to 2006.

In terms of additional certifications, Alejandro obtained the following:

- In 2013, they completed the M101P: MongoDB for Developers course at 10gen, as well as the M102: MongoDB for DBAs course.

- In 2010, they became an Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 6 Programmer.

- In 2009, they obtained the ITIL Foundations V3 certification.

- In the same year, they also became a Certified Linux Professional (CLP) through Novell.
