Dave McKerral

Dave McKerral has a strong background in software engineering and development. Dave currently holds the position of VP of Software Engineering at Kalibrate, a role they have held since February 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Product Development at the same company from October 2019 to February 2023.

Before joining Kalibrate, Dave worked as a Consultant at Unseen Solutions from March 2019 to October 2019.

Dave also has experience in senior leadership roles, having served as the Chief Technology Officer at OpenMoney from January 2016 to February 2019. In this role, they were responsible for building and leading the technical development of the eVestor product and working with regulatory bodies and third parties in the financial services industry. Dave successfully recruited and built a team to develop a customer-facing financial advice and investment service.

Dave's earlier experience includes working as an Application Manager and Development Team Lead at EMIS Health Secondary Care from September 2013 to December 2015, where they led development teams and made technical and architectural decisions. Dave also worked as a Senior Software Developer at the same company from November 2011 to September 2013.

Their career started at the University of Manchester, where they worked as a Software Developer from April 2008 to November 2011. In this role, they provided full lifecycle development services and worked extensively with S#arp Architecture to develop user interfaces for the university's student population.

Dave McKerral graduated with a BSc in Computing Science from The University of Manchester in 2006. Prior to that, they attended Hills Road VI Form College from 2001 to 2003 where they completed their A-Levels in Physics, Maths, Further Maths, and Music Technology. Dave began their education at Linton Village College from 1996 to 2001, where they obtained their GCSEs.
