Macrina Francisco is currently the Manager of External Relationships in In Vitro Pharmacology at Kallyope. Macrina has over eight years of experience in research and has worked with various companies such as the University of California, Davis, Kallyope, and Eli Lilly and Company.

Francisco started their career as a Research Assistant at UC Davis MIND Institute where they collected data for longitudinal studies designed to determine risk factors that may be associated with the development of autism. Macrina was also responsible for recruiting and interviewing potential and eligible participants for various studies.

In 2016, they joined Eli Lilly and Company as a Research Associate in Cancer Immunobiology. In this role, they led and supported MOA studies for IO compound combinations by regularly executing multi-color flow cytometry experiments from start to finish. Macrina also developed in vitro methods, such as T-cell proliferation assays, to support the Experimental & Translational Immuno-oncology group in understanding the significance of various treatments on immune cell function. In addition, Francisco performed Quantigene assays from samples collected during in vivo studies for biomarker analyses.

most recently, Francisco established and optimized a cell sorting protocol to observe how parts of the tumor microenvironment are affected by drug treatment, as well as which cell populations contribute to gene expression patterns. Macrina also confirmed binding and blocking of potentially therapeutic antibodies for use in large-scale mouse studies.

Macrina Francisco has a B.S. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from University of California, Davis.
