Kalei Kailihiwa is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in community engagement and education within Kamehameha Schools since July 2006. As the Director of Community Engagement, Kalei provides strategic direction for community partnerships across Hawaii. Previously, Kalei held positions such as Regional Director and Director of Community Programs, focusing on educational initiatives on the Waianae Coast. Additionally, Kalei directed the Ho‘olako Like effort, offering strategic oversight for public charter school support. Earlier roles included Program Coordinator for parent and caregiver education and Program Specialist in health and wellness, contributing to curriculum development in substance abuse prevention. Prior to Kamehameha Schools, Kalei managed programs at the Coalition for A Drug-Free Hawaii, specializing in substance abuse and violence prevention. Kalei holds a Master's degree in Social Work and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
