Cindy Hohl, MBA, MLIS has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in libraries, associations, and the casino industry. Cindy is currently the President-Elect at the American Library Association and a Committee Member at the same organization. Cindy holds the position of Director of Policy Analysis at the Kansas City Public Library. Cindy is also a member of the Executive Board at the Freedom To Read Foundation and serves as their Treasurer. Cindy is a Standing Member at the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA). In addition, they are a Steering Committee Member at the JOINT COUNCIL OF LIBRARIANS OF COLOR and was previously the President of the AMERICAN INDIAN LIBRARY ASSOCIATION. Prior to their involvement in the library field, Cindy held managerial roles in marketing, communications, and general management at Golden Eagle Casino, Tiger Financial Management, and Sac and Fox Casino.

Cindy Hohl holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management from Baker University, which they obtained between 2013 and 2016. Cindy later pursued a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science at Wayne State University, completing it from 2016 to 2021. Prior to their graduate studies, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Organizational Management and Leadership from Friends University, graduating in 2012. Additionally, Cindy completed a program in Health Information Technology at Washburn University between 2005 and 2009.
