Shanelle Smith is an accomplished educator and founder with extensive experience in instructional leadership and non-profit management. As the Founder of HBCU Walking Billboard since 2015, Shanelle promotes awareness and support for Historically Black Colleges and Universities through this 501(c)(3) organization. In the role of Vice-Principal at Kansas City Public Schools, Shanelle coaches and manages a team of 45 teachers, facilitating professional development and overseeing state testing. Additionally, Shanelle serves as an Online Instructor for ACELLUS and an English Methods Instructor for Kansas City Teacher Residency, focusing on curriculum development and teacher coaching. Previous positions include English Teacher at University Academy and Regional Instructional Coordinator for Imagine Schools, where Shanelle developed instructional practices and coached multiple teachers. Shanelle holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Webster University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Fisk University in Political Science and Business Management.
