Amanda Vega-Mavec

Amanda Vega-Mavec, Ed.D., serves as the Executive Director at Start at Zero since July 2024 and has been a Contributor for the Kansas Leadership Center since January 2021, writing op-ed pieces on civic leadership. Previous roles include Vice President of Programs and Director at El Centro, Inc., and Principal at Holy Name School. Amanda also held various positions at Bishop Ward High School, KIPP Endeavor Academy, and Chelsea Public Schools. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from The University of Kansas, a Master of Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Wellesley College, along with a Certificate in Catholic School Leadership from Creighton University.
