Leonie Kroon

Leonie Kroon currently serves as Senior toezichthouder Wwft at Kansspelautoriteit, starting in September 2023. Prior to this role, Leonie was a toezichthouder at Autoriteit Financiële Markten from January 2012 to August 2023, where the organization works to promote fair and transparent financial markets. Leonie's earlier experience includes serving as a gerechtssecretaris in the criminal sector at Rechtbank Amsterdam from September 2008 to January 2012, and a stagiaire at Coördinatiebureau Bibob in the municipality of Amsterdam in early 2008. Academic qualifications include a Postdoctoraal degree in Anti-witwaswetgeving and corporate compliance from Grotius Academie in 2023, a Master of Science in Criminologie with a focus on criminal law enforcement from 2005 to 2008, and a Doctorandus degree in Dutch law with a specialization in criminal law obtained from 2000 to 2005.
