Maria M. Wertli

Maria M. Wertli currently serves as the Director and Chief Physician of the Department of Internal Medicine at Kantonsspital Baden AG, a position held since January 2022. Additionally, Maria is a Board Member at Barmelweid Gruppe AG and serves as the President of the Quality Commission for the Swiss Society of General Internal Medicine. Involved in academic publishing, Maria works as an Associate Editor for PM&R and an Editor for the Swiss Medical Forum. With a robust research background, Maria holds the title of Senior Research Scientist and Senior Medical Officer at University Hospital Bern and previously focused on musculoskeletal pain research at Horten Centre, University of Zurich. Maria’s educational qualifications include various degrees from esteemed institutions, culminating in a Ph.D. from Maastricht University and a recent appointment as Professor at the University of Bern.
