Christopher A. Ruhl is the chief financial officer for Purdue University Global and also serves as Purdue University’s senior vice president for strategic initiatives. In his dual role, he oversees the business management, comptroller, financial planning and analysis, and treasury operations for both institutions.
Prior to joining Purdue, Ruhl was the senior vice president, chief financial officer, and general counsel at Ivy Tech Community College from 2012 to 2017. He also served as the director of the Indiana Office of Management & Budget, director of the Indiana State Budget Agency, and policy director and general counsel for the Indiana OMB under then-Governor Mitch Daniels.
Ruhl is skilled at developing and executing strategic operational and financial management initiatives. He thrives in challenging and evolving macro environments, building, and leading teams to collaboratively align around a shared vision and metrics, and delivering strong operational and financial results in complex decentralized organizations.
Ruhl holds a JD from the Valparaiso University School of Law, and a bachelor's degree in finance from the Michigan State University Broad College of Business.
