Tomas Juarez Palavecino

Tomas Juarez Palavecino is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in leading engineering teams and developing complex systems. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer II at Kard since October 2024, Tomas previously held the role of Engineering Lead at dLocal, where a focus was on building an anomaly detection system utilizing near-real-time ETL and machine learning. During tenure at Pomelo from October 2021 to November 2023, Tomas acted as tech manager for the Digital Accounts team across Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico, and also co-led two teams as a staff tech lead. Prior experience includes working as a Senior Software Engineer at Nubank on backend services using Flutter and Clojure, and as a Senior Software Development Engineer at Upgrade, Inc., where Tomas focused on microservice architecture with Java and Spring Boot. Academically, Tomas holds an Engineer's degree in Systems Engineering from Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires and is pursuing a specialization in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Buenos Aires.
