Before their work at What Works for Children's Social Care, Kate was the Chief Operating Officer at Oomph! Wellness from April 2014 to July 2020. At Oomph! Wellness, Kate was responsible for leading the operational transformation of a start-up exercise business to become the largest provider of in-house, wellbeing training across the UK’s older adult market. Kate also created and oversaw a new service division for an innovative day excursions service. This service grew from an initial pilot in 2017 to a £2.5 million business in 2019, employing over 60 staff.

Throughout their career, Kate has consistently achieved client retention rates of +85% and grew AUM of key clients by 7x. Kate has also secured over £2.5 million of investment from institutional and angel investors. In addition, Kate has led legal contract negotiations for all commercial and operational contractual agreements.

Kate has provided inspiring leadership to various businesses through turbulent market changes and internal restructuring. Kate has also led and motivated centrally and remotely located teams to deliver “best in class” services and generate a high-performing culture. Furthermore, Kate has implemented appropriate CRM systems, HR information systems and accounting systems; including data cleansing, data migration, system integration and training.

Kate is successful businesswoman who has extensive experience in the operational side of businesses. Kate is a dynamic leader with a proven track record of success in growing businesses and achieving client retention rates.

Kate Colborne-Baber attended the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), where they earned their BSc from the University of Bath. Kate then attended Cheadle Hulme School.
