Dave Mariner

Chief Evangelist / Co-founder at Karmafy

Dave Mariner has a strong background in the gaming industry and entrepreneurship. Dave co-founded and served as the Chief Evangelist at Karmafy from 2014 onwards, where they focused on promoting cross-promotion, gamification, and direct involvement for businesses and philanthropic organizations. Prior to that, they co-founded AppSponsor.net in 2012 and later exited to Karmafy. At AppSponsor.net, Dave was the CEO and worked on developing a global platform to bring together brands, app developers, and good causes for app sponsorship messages.

Dave also co-founded FunRigger Productions ApS in 2010 and focused on building location-based experiences and enabling technologies. Before that, they worked at NDS as the Games Group Manager from 2009 to 2011, overseeing game development efforts and establishing a partnership with Unity Technologies. Dave also served as a Business Analyst at NDS Interactive, opening up new markets and opportunities.

Prior to NDS, Dave worked as a Project Manager at NDS Denmark, managing a team of developers for AAA Console/PC titles. Dave started their career as the Technical Director and Founder of Medlab Games Ltd in 2001. Dave's earlier experiences include being Lead Programmer at Aqua Pacific, Programmer at Silicon Dreams and Amida Ltd, and the Founder and Lead Programmer at Eclipse Designs.

Dave Mariner attended Trinity School of John Whitgift from 1979 to 1987. After completing their secondary education, they enrolled at Bournemouth University from 1994 to 1998. During their time at Bournemouth University, Dave pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering Management.
