David Gorski

Medical Director, Alexander J. Walt Comprehensive Breast Center at Karmanos Cancer Institute

David Gorski has had a diverse and extensive work experience in the medical field. David is currently a Professor of Surgery at Wayne State University School of Medicine since August 2016. Prior to that, they worked as an Associate Professor of Surgery at the same institution from March 2008 to August 2016. Additionally, they served as the Medical Director of the Alexander J. Walt Comprehensive Breast Center at Karmanos Cancer Institute and was the Program Co-Leader of the Breast Cancer Biology Program there from April 2010 to March 2012. David also held the position of Managing Editor at Science-Based Medicine since January 2008. Furthermore, they were appointed as the Co-Director of Michigan Breast Oncology Quality Initiative (MiBOQI) from July 2013 to October 2016. Before joining Wayne State University School of Medicine, they worked at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School as an Associate Professor of Surgery from July 2006 to February 2008, and as an Assistant Professor of Surgery from August 1999 to June 2006. David also served as an Attending Surgical Oncologist at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey from August 1999 to February 2008. David began their career as a Surgical Oncology Fellow at the University of Chicago from 1996 to 1999. Finally, they worked as a Blogger at Seed Media Group from 2005 to October 2016.

David Gorski has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Michigan, which they obtained in 1984. David then attended the University of Michigan Medical School and earned their Medical Doctorate (M.D.) degree in 1988. After that, they pursued their Ph.D. in Cellular Physiology from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed it in 1994.
