Lars Frelin has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Lars has primarily worked at Karolinska Institutet, where they have held positions such as Director of Education, Associate Professor in Virology, Facility Manager, Senior Researcher, and Programme Director. Lars has also served as the Chairman of the International Committee for the Study Programme in Biomedical Laboratory Science and as the Linnaeus-Palme project coordinator at Karolinska Institutet. Additionally, they have worked as a Postdoctoral fellow at the Vaccine Research Institute of San Diego and the Scripps Research Institute. Lars has founded their consulting company, Frelin Consulting AB, where they serve as the CEO, Founder, and Senior Consultant. Lars has also co-founded and served as a board member and Senior Director at SVF Vaccines AB. Lars is actively involved in the field of vaccines and is an executive board member of The International Society for Vaccines and a member of the ISV Outreach Committee. Lars currently holds the position of Research Infrastructure Development Officer at Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset.
Lars Frelin completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from Södertörn University from 1997 to 2000. Lars then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Virology/Clinical Virology from Karolinska Institutet from 2001 to 2004.
