Amama Sadiq, MD, MPH joined Karyopharm in April 2023 as the Senior Vice President, Head of Global Medical and Scientific Affairs. Her remit includes providing leadership and strategic support to both the headquarter and field based medical and scientific affairs teams. Dr. Sadiq is based in Massachusetts and was previously, Head of Medical Affairs for Rare diseases North America at Ipsen, where she was a key member of the Global leadership team responsible for establishing and leading a comprehensive North America medical affairs function including medical strategy, field medical, HEOR, medical operations and scientific communications across a broad rare disease portfolio. Prior to Ipsen, Dr. Sadiq was the Executive Medical director for Women’s Health and ultimately expanded her role to lead Hematology/Oncology at AMAG pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Sadiq brings with her 15+ years of US and EU healthcare experience including deep medical affairs, clinical research, and commercialization expertise. She is skilled in working across a range of diverse therapeutic areas with an emphasis on areas of high unmet need. Most notably, Dr. Sadiq has a proven record in leadership, cross functional collaboration and excellent communication skills dedicated to raising the value and impact of medical affairs organizations.
Dr. Sadiq completed an internal medicine residency from University College London, UK, a clinical research fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, and obtained a Master’s of Public Health in Health Management and Policy from the Harvard School of Public Health.
