Hilda Snowball

Chairperson at Kativik Regional Government

Hilda Snowball is a respected leader in the Inuit community of Northern Canada. Hilda has dedicated their career to public service, working to improve the lives of those they represent.

Snowball began their career as an educator, working at the Aqaivik Childcare Center from 2005 to 2012. Hilda then transitioned into government, serving as the Mayor of the Northern Village of Kangiqsualujjuaq from 2012 to 2018. During this time, they also served as Vice Chair of the Kativik Regional Government. In 2018, they took on a new role as Fellow at The Gordon Foundation. In this role, they provided their expert opinions on various issues affecting the Inuit community.

In 2020, Snowball returned to the Kativik Regional Government, this time taking on the role of Chairperson. In this role, they are responsible for leading the organization and its employees. Hilda is committed to continue working hard to improve the lives of those they represent.

Hilda Snowball attended Ulluriaq School, a high school located in their community.
