Derya Baran

Derya Baran is an Associate Professor at KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology) since January 2017 and previously served as an Assistant Professor. Derya is also a Co-Founder of Red Sea Farms and iyris. Prior experience includes a role as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Imperial College London, in collaboration with Julich Research Center, and as a Research Associate at Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg. Derya holds a Master's degree in Polymer Chemistry from Middle East Technical University and has contributed to academia as a Teaching Assistant and Visiting Researcher at various institutions. Academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Natural and Applied Sciences with a focus on Chemistry from Middle East Technical University.
