Omar Knio

Omar Knio is a distinguished academic and engineer, currently serving as a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science. They have held various significant positions, including the Edmund T. Pratt Jr. Professor and Director of the Uncertainty and Risk Thrust at Duke University's Pratt School of Engineering. Prior to their current roles, Omar accumulated extensive experience in academia and industry, including a postdoctoral associate position at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and senior executive roles at Reactive NanoTechnologies and Devonrue, Ltd. They earned their Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and completed their undergraduate studies at the American University of Beirut.
