Cheryl Smit

Cheryl Smit has over 30 years of experience in healthcare, currently serving as the Stroke Program Manager at Kaweah Health since May 2000. In this role, Cheryl provides leadership in the delivery of care for stroke patients, overseeing program development, operational design, policy implementation, and population management. Prior to this position, Cheryl worked as the Performance Improvement & Patient Safety Coordinator and CME Coordinator at Kaweah Health from May 1989 to December 1999. Cheryl began their career as a Registered Nurse in a step-down cardiac care unit, where responsibilities included serving as an assistant charge nurse. Cheryl holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Registered Nursing from South Dakota State University.
