Ruben Verkuijl

Ruben Verkuijl is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor, best known as the Founder, Owner, and CEO of Kayak since May 2012. In addition to leading Kayak, Ruben co-founded Kayak Care in November 2022 and established Kayak Ventures in February 2025, focusing on venture capital for angel and seed investments. As an angel investor, Ruben has invested in Equip since April 2025 and has been an investor in Spielwork since August 2017. Ruben also serves as an advisor to Spadework, an AI start-up, and has contributed as a pre-seed backer for the Graduate Entrepreneur Fund since January 2021. Prior to these roles, Ruben founded RD Recruitment and STICHTING DUURZAAM NEDERLAND, which aims to inspire and connect individuals through sustainable initiatives. Educationally, Ruben holds an MSc in Finance & Investments from Erasmus University Rotterdam, completed in 2009.
