Katie Schmieg has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Katie began their career as a Teaching Fellow at the Nativity School of Worcester in 2009, where they worked until 2011. Katie then worked as a Teaching Assistant at Boston College from 2012 to early 2013. Following this, they became a Latin and English Teacher at Newton Country Day School from 2013 to 2017. In 2017, Katie joined Kaymbu as a School Ambassador and worked in this position until 2018. Katie then transitioned to the role of Director of Customer Success at Kaymbu and held this position until 2019. Currently, they are working as the VP of Operations at Kaymbu.

Katie attended the College of the Holy Cross from 2005 to 2009, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Classics and Classical Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics.
From 2011 to 2013, they pursued further education at Boston College, where they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Classics and Classical Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics.
In 2016 to 2017, they attended freeCodeCamp and received a Full Stack Web Development Certification in Computer Software Engineering.
Currently, they are enrolled at Merion Mercy Academy and is expected to obtain their High School Diploma in 2025.
In addition to their academic degrees, they have obtained several certifications. In 2014, they became certified in AP Latin by The College Board. In 2016, they completed the "Code Yourself! An Introduction to Programming" course and received a certificate from Coursera Course Certificates. In 2017, they completed three courses from TEFL Fullcircle, including the Advanced Certificate in Teaching English to Young Learners (TEYL)- 40 Hour Course, the Master Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)- 160 Hour Course, and the Advanced Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)- 120 Hour Course.
