James D. Kaplan

Jim is co-founder and the CEO of KB Financial. He has been a financial advisor since graduating from Lehigh University in 1983. From the beginning of his financial career, Jim had a vision about the way financial services should be delivered and his vision is the foundation for the structure of KB Financial today: a team of professionals collaborating to pursue superior outcomes for their clients.

As the CEO, Jim works with the KB Financial team to develop the overall strategy of the firm and leads the effort to continually refine and improve the client offerings of KB Financial. He is also actively involved with clients, helping them to reach for their goals and pursue their dreams.

He has an extensive track record of over 30 years advising high net worth clients in the areas of sophisticated estate, wealth transfer and investment planning strategies. He is a frequent lecturer at financial institutions, law firms and industry meetings.

Jim serves as a member of the Board of Directors of M Financial Holdings, Inc. as well as M Life Insurance Company. He is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and serves on the Board of Directors of The Mariano Rivera Foundation, the Princeton Day School Leadership Gift Committee and is involved with a number of local charities focused on providing food for the underserved.

Jim is an avid runner, hiker, skier and dog trainer. He lives in Princeton, New Jersey with his family of six.
