Chris Vervliet

Chris Vervliet is an accomplished senior risk manager at KBC Asset Management since May 2004, currently serving on the EFRAG Capital Market Advisory Panel from March 2024, where the focus is on advising on sustainability reporting standards for financial institutions. Vervliet has been an active member of the ESMA stakeholder group since July 2020, representing financial sector employees. Additional roles include serving as a member of the executive committee and senior risk manager in Boutersem, mayor of Boutersem since January 2019, and a freelance writer exploring themes around civilizational dialogue and personalism. Educational qualifications include a Doctorate in Political Science and an MBA from KU Leuven, along with degrees in Political Sciences and Economics from Stellenbosch University and KU Leuven, respectively. Vervliet has also authored works relating to MiFID II and tourism in South Africa.
