Marc Thorsteinsson

Marc Thorsteinsson has a strong background in immunoassay development and validation, with extensive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Marc worked as a Principal Scientist at KBI Biopharma starting in 2018. Prior to that, they were an Immunoassay Lead at Spark Therapeutics, Inc. from 2017 to 2018, where they managed a team of scientists and oversaw the development of assays for detecting and quantifying therapeutic products and biomarkers. From 2014 to 2017, Marc was a Senior Manager and Group Leader at Covance, where they managed a team of scientists and was responsible for the development and validation of immunoassays and enzymatic assays. Marc also has experience at Merck, where they worked as a Research Fellow for over 12 years, developing and validating ELISA assays for vaccines and therapeutic proteins. Marc began their career as a National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Marc Thorsteinsson attended Virginia Tech from 1988 to 1997, where they earned a BS and PhD in Biochemistry.
