Smita Paranjape

Smita Paranjape, Ph.D., currently serves as a Process Development Scientist I in Cell Line Development at KBI Biopharma, where expertise includes vector construction, transfection, single-cell cloning, and generational stability assessments, alongside project management and technical documentation. Prior experience includes working as a Research Associate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, focusing on the molecular mechanisms of prenatal alcohol exposure and developing cell-based assays. Additional roles at the same institution involved investigating synaptic remodeling and conducting high-throughput screening related to neuronal gene expression and autism. Smita Paranjape completed a Ph.D. in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Kansas, and holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Microbiology from Abasaheb Garware College. Early career experience includes research assistant work screening FSHR gene polymorphisms and a lecturer position in microbiology.
