Todd May

SVP, Government Solutions U.S. – Science & Space Solutions at KBR

Mr. May serves as KBR’s Senior Vice President, Government Solutions U.S. – Space and Mission Solutions. He assumed this role when he joined KBR in July 2018. Mr. May is responsible for the business line providing solutions for astronaut training and health, mission and satellite operations, human spaceflight ground control, extravehicular activity support, and key ground systems support and mission operations for U.S. Department of Defense and civilian customers. Culminating a 28-year career, Mr. May retired from NASA as the director of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. In this role, he led one of NASA’s largest field installations, with approximately 6,000 civil service and contractor employees, an annual budget of more than $3 billion and a broad spectrum of human spaceflight, science and technology development missions.

Throughout his distinguished career at NASA, Mr. May held numerous program management and leadership positions including, program manager of the Space Launch System, deputy associate administrator in the Science Mission Directorate at NASA headquarters, program manager of the Discovery and New Frontiers robotic exploration programs, and program manager of the Lunar Precursor Robotics Program.

A native of Fairhope, Alabama, Mr. May holds a Bachelor of Materials Engineering degree from Auburn University. His accolades include NASA’s Exceptional Achievement Medal, Outstanding Leadership Medal, Distinguished Service Medal and the Presidential Rank Award of Meritorious Executive. Mr. May also serves on the board of directors of the American Astronautical Society and the boards of the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce and Arts Huntsville.
