Sarah Kay Woolfolk is an accomplished professional in the bioengineering field with extensive experience in both research and program management. Currently serving as Program Manager II at KCAS Bio since May 2022, Woolfolk has held multiple positions, including Scientist II and Principal Investigator, demonstrating expertise in nano-micro-scale characterization of interfacial interactions between inorganic and organic materials. Prior to this, Woolfolk contributed to academia as a Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Kansas between August 2013 and December 2021, focusing on peptide engineering and supporting engineering students. Earlier experience includes research roles at Mayo Clinic Rochester and Cypress Bioscience, where explorations ranged from calcium signaling in airway smooth muscle to the effects of pharmaceutical treatments. Woolfolk holds a PhD and MS in Bioengineering from The University of Kansas and a BS in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
