News Director at KCBX

Gabriela Fernandez has a diverse work experience. Gabriela started as an Engagement Intern at the American Federation of Teachers in 2016, where they focused on social media campaigns and community outreach. Gabriela later worked at Capital Public Radio, starting as a Podcast Intern before becoming an Associate Podcast Producer, where they contributed to various podcast productions. Continuing their career, they then worked at Nyman Turkish PC as a Legal Assistant, before transitioning to KCBX INC as a News Reporter and eventually becoming the News Director.

Gabriela Fernandez completed their Associate of Arts degree in Political Science and Government at College of the Redwoods in 2016. Gabriela then transferred to Los Angeles Mission College, where they earned another Associate of Arts degree in the same field in 2017. Finally, they graduated from California State University-Sacramento in 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government.
