Erik Kopplin is a co-founder and CEO of KCC design + build, a design-build general contractor specializing in commercial and residential projects in New York and California. Prior to that, they were a Construction Manager at HENSEL PHELPS for over 10 years, leading large teams on high-profile construction projects in various industries. Erik has a unique blend of project manager and superintendent construction experience in hospitality, high-end residential, aviation, education, federal government, and port of entry market sectors.
Erik Kopplin attended Park Center High School from 1997 to 1999, where they received a diploma as a high honors student. Erik then went on to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Construction Management from 1999 to 2003. Erik has also obtained several additional certifications, including a NYC Contractors License and NYC Home Improvement License from the NYC Department of Buildings in 2015. In 2014, they obtained a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson certification from The Corcoran Group. Erik holds various other certifications, such as OSHA 30 HR in 2012, California General Contractors License from the California State License Board in 2009, OSHA 10 HR from OSHA in 2009, CPR & First Aid in 2008, LEED AP from GBCI in 2008, and an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) in 2004.
