David Birdsell

David Birdsell has a diverse and extensive work experience in academia and nonprofit organizations. David is currently serving as the Provost and SVP for Academic Affairs at Kean University since August 2021. Prior to this, they were a Fellow at the National Academy of Public Administration starting from December 2015.

From November 2015, David served as the Board Chair of Governance Matters, a subsidiary of the New York Council of Nonprofits. David had previously been a board member of the New York Council of Nonprofits since September 2015.

David Birdsell has had a long association with Baruch College's Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs, where they held multiple roles. David served as the Dean and Professor from an unspecified date in 1999 until August 2021. David also held the role of Special Assistant to the President for Institutional Effectiveness from July 2012 to June 2017.
