Kearney Public Schools is located in central Nebraska serving a population of approximately 5,500 students, birth to age 21.  KPS has one high school, two middle schools, ten elementary schools and one preschool building. KPS has a Kearney Community Learning Center (an afterschool program), which is available at most elementary schools and Sunrise middle school sites.

The Counseling and Student Support team at Kearney Public Schools provides comprehensive services aimed at fostering the academic, social-emotional, and personal development of students. The team consists of counselors, specialists, and educators who work collaboratively to address individual student needs, support special education, promote mental health, and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
