Tom Essig

Tom Essig is a seasoned expert in federal acquisition and procurement, currently serving as the Owner of TWE LLC since August 2009, providing advisory services to government and commercial organizations. Tom also contributes as a Strategic Advisor at the Government Technology & Services Coalition since May 2012, where pro bono advice is rendered to small and mid-size companies on government procurement matters. With extensive experience in various roles, including Acquisition Subject Matter Expert at Kearney & Company and Chief Procurement Officer at DHS, Tom has played significant roles in managing multi-billion dollar acquisition programs and developing acquisition management processes. Previous positions include leadership roles at the Department of the Navy and Naval Sea Systems Command, where Tom directed substantial contracting operations and business transformation initiatives. Tom's educational background includes a BA in Criminology from the University of Maryland and advanced studies at The Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy.
