Manuel Pantoja

Manuel Pantoja, MD, MPH, CDIP, CRCR, CCM has an extensive work experience. Manuel is currently working at Keck Medicine of USC as the Senior Director of Clinical Documentation Integrity since May 2023. Prior to this, they were the Director of Clinical Documentation Integrity at the same organization from April 2021 to May 2023. Manuel also co-founded and served as the Vice President of New Citizen Project, Inc starting from March 2016. Before that, they worked as a Regional Director at Prime Healthcare from February 2016 to April 2021, overseeing various healthcare facilities in OC and NJ. Manuel has also worked as a Health Management Consultant at their own company from January 2015 to February 2016. Prior to this, they held roles such as Health Workforce/Economics Consultant at IntraHealth International, Executive Extern at Mount Sinai Health System, Director of Business Development and Due Diligence Fellowship at Health Investment & Financing Corporation, Event Facilitator at International Hospital Federation, and Practicum Consultant at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Manuel Pantoja, MD, MPH, CDIP, CRCR, CCM has a diverse education history. In 1999, they received a Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from California State University, Long Beach. Manuel then went on to pursue a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, which they completed in 2013. In 2014, they obtained the ECFMG certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. Continuing their education, they earned a Master's Degree in Public Health - Health Policy and Management from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in 2015. In 2016, they pursued a Core: Credential of Readiness from Harvard Business School.

Furthermore, Manuel Pantoja has acquired several additional certifications throughout their career. These include the Certified Coding Specialist and Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner from AHIMA, as well as the Certified Case Manager (CCM) from the Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC) and the HFMA's Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
