Andrea Buzzigoli has a strong background in quality control and laboratory management. From 2013 to present, they have been the Head of QC-Microbiology Laboratory at Kedrion Biopharma. In this role, they are responsible for ensuring compliance with GMP and FDA regulations, managing deviations and change control, revising SOPs, and conducting risk analysis. Andrea also oversees the environmental monitoring program and coordinates training and collaboration with team members. Prior to this, Andrea held various positions at Kedrion Biopharma, including Head's Assistant of QC-Microbiology/Molecular Biology Laboratory and QC-Biochemistry Laboratory, where they gained experience in managing lab compliance, standardization, instrumentation, and maintenance. In 2012, Andrea worked as a visiting biologist at the ESCMID Collaborative Center in Paris, conducting research on carbapenem resistance mechanisms. Andrea also had teaching experience at ENAIP and a fellowship at the University of Pisa.
Andrea Buzzigoli earned a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology from Università di Pisa in 2008. They then pursued a Master's degree in Biomolecular Techniques and Science from the same institution, completing it in 2010. In 2011, Andrea obtained the certification of Iscrizione Albo Professionale from Ordine Nazionale dei Biologi. They further specialized in Microbiology and Virology through a postgraduate specialization program at Università di Pisa, which lasted from 2011 to 2016.
