Cormac Breathnach has a diverse work experience in the field of horse racing and bloodstock consultancy. Cormac started their career in 2009 as a Stallion Seasons and Matings Consultant at Adena Springs, where they worked until 2017. During this time, they gained expertise in stallion breeding and matings analysis. In 2017, they joined Airdrie Stud as a Nominations, Sales & Bloodstock professional, specializing in sales and bloodstock management. After four years with Airdrie Stud, Cormac became the Director of Sales Operations at Keeneland Association in 2021. Additionally, they have also been running their own bloodstock consultancy called Galway Bloodstock, LLC since 2007, offering various services such as auction representation, racehorse management, and matings analysis. Cormac prides himself on open and straightforward communication in their role as the sole operator of Galway Bloodstock, LLC.
Cormac Breathnach's education history begins with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology from the University of Galway, which they obtained from 1992 to 1996. Cormac then pursued a PhD in Veterinary Science at the University of Kentucky from 1996 to 2001. Continuing their academic journey, Cormac undertook post-doctoral research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, specializing in Equine Infectious Disease/Immunology from 2001 to 2003. Cormac further expanded their expertise as a post-doctoral scholar at the University of Kentucky, focusing on Equine neonatal immunology from 2004 to 2007.
