Takuya Hirano

Currently based in Seattle, Takuya Hirano is a recognized global business leader with extensive experience in leading large multi-national organizations. He serves on the board and advisor across publicly traded and privately held companies, professional sports organizations, and startup organizations.

During his 17-year tenure at Microsoft, Hirano served as the president of Microsoft Japan, Central Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Microsoft Japan became the #1 brand in Japan across all domestic and international companies as an outcome of his business transformation initiatives. He also led the Global Alliance Business for System Integrators and Advisory Partners as the Vice President at Microsoft Corp. Prior to Microsoft, he was the president of Hyperion Japan (acquired by Oracle).

Prior to moving to the US, he held several leadership positions in Japanese business communities, including vice-chairperson for the IT Committee at the Japan Association of Corporate Executives.

Takuya was born in Hokkaido, Japan, and holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Brigham Young University.
