Dana Rosenfeld serves as managing partner of Kelley Drye, and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and past chair of the firm’s Privacy and Information Security practice. A former assistant director of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Bureau of Consumer Protection and attorney advisor to FTC Chairman Robert Pitofsky, Dana’s legal practice has focused on all aspects of privacy and data security, advertising and consumer protection at the federal and state levels.
As managing partner, Dana is implementing new strategies to best serve our clients and to evolve the firm for the future. She devotes significant time to understanding client needs and expectations and to ensuring that the firm is structured to deliver the legal and business advice our clients require today and in the years to come.
Innovation is a key priority for Dana. Recognizing that clients are demanding more transparency, efficiency, and collaboration beyond providing traditional legal advice, she created the firm’s Client Service and Innovation Committee. The committee considers value-driven offerings for clients that use people, process, and technologies in new and innovative ways.
Dana is a strong advocate for diversity in the legal profession and works to create an inclusive environment at Kelley Drye where all lawyers and staff are safe, respected, and valued. A member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, she oversees the firm’s diversity initiatives, which encompass partnerships with several social justice and community-based organizations, an outreach program supporting African American law students, and a diversity scholarship.
In her legal practice, Dana assists clients in complying with state and federal privacy and information security laws, as well as advises on best practices and self-regulatory programs. She also counsels clients on the full array of advertising law matters, including clearance of ad claims, evaluation of competitor conduct for potential advertising challenges, and investigations conducted by the FTC and state attorneys general.
Dana appreciates that Kelley Drye operates as a true partnership, with lawyers working across practices and offices in teams best suited to the requirements of a particular matter. It is this culture of inclusion and camaraderie and the spirit of service to clients that drive her leadership initiatives. Dana takes great satisfaction in developing strong relationships with clients and with her colleagues at the firm, and she welcomes the opportunity for conversation and engagement in the greater legal community.
