Paul Michael Pelken has a diverse work experience in the fields of architecture, innovation, and academia. Paul Michael is currently a Visiting Professor at The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. Prior to that, they were the Director and founding partner of P+ Studio and Consulting. Paul Michael also held roles at the University of Cambridge as a Senior Associate and Supervisor in Interdisciplinary Design, at Keltbray Group as an Innovation Director, at City, University of London as an Honorary Visiting Professor, and at Laing O'Rourke as an Innovation Strategy Leader and Architectural Leader. Additionally, they have served as a Visiting Professor at Southeast University and Nanjing University School of Architecture and Urban Planning, and they have been involved in research and teaching collaborations with various international institutions. Paul Michael has also worked as a Research Expert and Proposal Reviewer for the Swiss National Science Foundation.

Paul Michael Pelken has a diverse education history. Paul Michael obtained a Master of Architecture degree from The Bartlett School of Architecture in 2000, with a focus on Architectural Design. Prior to that, they attended the Peter Behrens School of Architecture from 1993 to 1999, where they earned a degree in Architecture and Interior Architecture. Additionally, they pursued studies in Industrial Design at MIP Politecnico di Milano from 1997 to 1998. Pelken also explored their interest in History of Art as an Affiliate Student at the Kunstakademie / Art Academy Düsseldorf from 1993 to 1996. Before their architectural studies, they completed a carpenter apprenticeship at the Technical College Tecklenburger Land from 1991 to 1993, earning a Carpentry Gesellenbrief.
