Hai Meng Tan

President, Animal Nutrition & Health, Asia at Kemin Industries

Dr. Hai Meng Tan is president of Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health – Asia Pacific. He has been with Kemin for more than 20 years, spending the last six in his current role.

Dr. Tan spent his first decade at Kemin Industries as vice president of research & development. He was senior vice president of sales before assuming his current position.

Dr. Tan has made many significant contributions to Kemin over his years of service and has been recognized with esteemed internal awards for his outstanding achievements. He was given the R.W. Nelson Medal for the patented products CLOSTAT™, KEMZYME Multi-Protease™ and Myco CURB® Extend, and was named Kemin Worldwide Outstanding Executive of the Year in 2009.

Under Dr. Tan’s leadership, Kemin in Asia has been awarded the 2021 SBR International Business Award for a company in agriculture and the AmCham Singapore CARES Distinction Award in 2018 through 2021. In 2018, Kemin in Asia was also recognized by SIM Best Talent Management Practices and was named one of the Best Companies to Work for in Asia by HR Asia in 2017. In 2019, Dr. Tan was conferred as Leading CEO at the Singapore HR Awards.

Prior to joining Kemin, Dr. Tan was a tenured associate professor of microbiology at the National University of Singapore.

Dr. Tan received his doctorate in microbiology from King’s College in London.

He has served as a member of the Singapore Science Centre Board, the Nanyang Polytechnic Food Science Committee and the Lakeside Family Centre Management Committee.
